The Battle Between Boldness, Fear And Faith In Business

Positive thoughts create positive visuals. You should advocates faith over boldness and boldness over fear because faith can overcome the paralysis that fear brings with it.

Let us look at the battle between boldness and fear and their ability to spot opportunities: A group of volunteers who claim to be bold and another group with ‘fear’ were both given a newspaper and asked to look through it for fascinating stories.

Secretly placed was a large message halfway through the newspaper that said: ‘Tell the coordinator you have seen this and win $28,000. The message was in bold letters. It was staring everyone in the face, but only the people who believed they were bold tended to spot it. Over half the ‘fear’ volunteers did not see it.

In business people who exhibit fear tend to be tense and anxious, this disrupts their ability to notice the unexpected. As a result, they miss valuable business opportunities because they are too focused on the expected.

Bold people are skilled at creating and noticing chance opportunities, listening to their intuition by adopting a resilient attitude that so often can transform a misfortune into good.

Let’s battle for faith. Faith requires boldness. There are a few principles used by people of faith to make them more successful and happier than mere boldness or plain fear. Anyone can learn these principles.

Be open to new experiences.

Boost your intuitive abilities by clearing your minds of junk thoughts.

Have great future expectations and these will make all the difference when things get tough.

Be more relaxed and take a holiday

Do not dwell on misfortune, but take control of the situation.

Imagine how things could be worse and be pleased they are not.

Visualize winning before an event. Winning is very often self-fulfilling prophecy.

Taking our lessons from the battle, we can deduct that success in life and business can be linked to the following philosophy:

Confidence, successful people have a very high degree of assertiveness and self-esteem. They also use visualizing techniques to form mental images of their goals.

Responsibility, successful business owners take responsible for their own actions. Instead of blaming others when things go wrong, they ask themselves what they have done to cause the problem and act accordingly to solve it.

Cooperation, Trust in others leads to a solid network of partners and friends, which provides more resources for projects than when managed alone and such projects are more successful.

Learning from mistakes, successful businesses do not see mistakes as failure, but as an opportunity to learn something new. Thomas Edison made a thousand failed attempts to produce an electric bulb. When asked if he felt he was a failure. Edison replied “Not at all. I now know of a thousand ways how not to make a light bulb” A few days later he successfully made the world’s first successful domestic bulb.

The only opinion about your dreams, faith and success that really counts is yours. The negative comments and opinions of others merely reflect their limitations. There is nothing unrealistic about your faith that aligns with your purpose that ignites your passion and inspires you to plan and visualize until you attain it. It is more unrealistic to expect a business or an individual with such discipline and commitment not to succeed.

The battle for success is not to overachieve in one area of life, but to maintain balanced achievement in all areas of our lives.

Uncovering Hidden Opportunities

Successful businesses recognize a need and fill it. In many cases, the need is obvious. However, some businesses thrive by seeing something that no one else does, jumping on the opportunity, and creating a product or service that appeals to the marketplace.

How do they do that? More important, how can you start being on top of the wave, instead of paddling to keep up? Recognizing hidden opportunities requires you to be two things:

1. Open to possibilities

2. Nimble

There is a myth that entrepreneurs have to be highly creative. Although many are, it is not a requirement for success. What is more important is letting go of expectations that things have to be a certain way. If you get too tied into any idea, you miss opportunities along the way. It’s like a horse with blinders on; it can only see what’s in front of it. That’s great when you want to keep from being distracted. However, if you are looking for opportunities, those distractions sometimes reveal a great idea. And if you aren’t open to other possibilities, you might not see it.

Approach your day and your world with fresh eyes. When you read the newspaper, look at the trends, new events, what people are reading or watching on television. In your work, what messages from customers seem to be developing a pattern? Is there something you can offer that will answer non-specific needs? All of these observations will give insights into what people want, whether it’s a perceived or actual need. Develop an ability to recognize opportunity. Your business will stay fresh, and your customers will respond.

Being nimble requires an ability to be agile and responsive. Ask yourself, “How well do I respond to change? How do I handle adversity? Can I leverage my assets to strike fast when an idea presents itself? Do I have a team in place that allows me to respond quickly?”

In this high-tech world we live in, change happens dozens of times a day. What is a trend one day, is outdated the next. Make sure you have the people, tools, and resources available that will help you see and act on hidden opportunities.

Study the people who are at the front of the wave. They all have these two traits. And when you are open to possibilities and nimble in your business, you will find yourself riding the wave of success, too.
